The whole mastering chain in one window, built from the real plugins.
The Smash Refinery rack: nine mastering modules in order, with the focused module open in the centre.
Each module is the actual plugin's unmodified source, compiled straight into the binary, not a host loading separate AU/VST3 instances.
The 10-module order is fully adjustable. Drag any rack module onto another and Refinery runs that exact signal path, nothing is fixed.
Every module gets its own 0–100% mix fader and on/off switch, on the rack and on a dedicated mixer page that always tracks the current chain order.
At default order, every module on and 100% wet, output is sample-exact against the same 10 plugins run standalone in series, 0 differing samples.
Total latency never shifts when modules are toggled on or off or dragged into a new order.
A custom chain order round-trips exactly through a full state save/reload cycle.
A companion iPad app on the same network as your Mac, mirroring Smash Refinery's whole rack. Move a knob on the iPad and it moves in the plugin; move it in the plugin and the iPad updates right back, both directions, live. Jump to any module or control from across the room instead of reaching for the mouse. LAN only, no cloud, no account, off by default and opt-in when you want it.
Smash Refinery is built, auval-passing, and sample-exact in automated chain-equivalence testing. Real-world in-DAW listening and VST3 host testing are still in progress. Included free with the $199 Elemental Mastering Suite, along with Dropzone, our delivery workflow app, also included free. It isn't sold on its own. $5 from every purchase goes to BC Children's Hospital Foundation.
