RELEASE READY · LOW-END CONTROL

GROUNDWAVES

We built Groundwaves to solve the low-end problems we kept running into on masters, mud, sub-boom, and translation to small speakers. It's the low-end counterpart to Airwaves, opens fully neutral, and pairs with a limiter downstream.

The Groundwaves interface, low-end control, plainly laid out.

WHAT'S UNDER THE HOOD

Tight low end, everywhere it's played.

GROUNDWORK

Gain-normalized head-bump, plus Sub Happy

An adjustable 12–48dB/octave highpass (20–60Hz) into a saturator whose linear gain is fully divided out, measured net level holds within ±0.35dB across the full knob range. Sub Happy rides in the same section: a transient tightener below 120Hz that lifts attacks and reins in hanging low-end tails, fading in gradually rather than switching on.

DE-MUD

Three-band dynamic notch

Tracks 220/300/380Hz detection bands with double-precision peaking notches, scaling linearly from 0dB to 6dB of cut.

WALL OF BASS

Side-channel width, 40–60Hz

The opposite instinct to Anchor: hugs the sides of the 40–60Hz band instead of collapsing them to mono, provably mono-safe, so low-end width never costs you translation.

TRANSLATOR

Two-voice sub-harmonic synthesis

A Mid voice rectifies the isolated sub band into 80–200Hz harmonics; a Low voice tracks a synthesized sub-octave into 50–120Hz. Both add back in with a headroom-aware clamp, so the low end still reads on phone speakers and small systems.

LOW LOCK

Parallel glue compression, plus Boom Tamer

Low Lock is a parallel glue compressor on everything below 120Hz, an RMS detector on the mono sum drives it, with a slow level-matched make-up crossfading dry against compressed, trading low-end dynamics for consistency without flattening punch. Boom Tamer rides underneath in the same section, taming a runaway 30–70Hz hit first so Low Lock only has to even out what's left.

ANCHOR

Mono below the crossover

Folds stereo to true mid, (L+R)/2, below an adjustable 50–300Hz point. Runs outside the oversampled path, it's linear, so it doesn't need to be there.
