Smash Happy Audio sells downloadable software. This page explains exactly what you receive when you buy, how quickly it arrives, and what to do if it does not.
Immediately after your payment is approved, two things happen:
Licenses are perpetual. There is no subscription, no expiry date, and no renewal to miss.
The Smash Happy Portal is a free desktop app that installs, authorizes and updates everything you own in one place. Download it once, sign in, and your products appear ready to go. Individual per-plugin installers are also available if you would rather not run the Portal.
The Portal also runs a 36-day trial of the entire catalogue, every plugin unlocked, with nothing to cancel at the end of it.
The license email is sent automatically and normally arrives within a few minutes. If it has not reached you within 15 minutes, check your spam or promotions folder first, then email us. We can look up the order and resend it by hand.
Your account is the backstop. Even if the email is lost entirely, the key is waiting for you when you sign in.
Each license activates on two computers that you own, which covers a studio machine and a laptop. Some promotions grant one additional activation. You are not locked to the machine you first install on. The Portal has a "deactivate this machine" action that frees the seat immediately so you can use it on a replacement computer, and there is no penalty or waiting period for doing so.
Plugins ship as AU and VST3 for macOS, on both Intel and Apple Silicon. Windows builds are in progress and are not yet available. Every build is code-signed and notarized, so it installs without security warnings.
Checkout is handled entirely by our payment provider, acting as Merchant of Record. Your card number, expiry and security code are entered on their systems and are transmitted directly to them over an encrypted connection. They are never sent to, processed by, or stored on any Smash Happy Audio server, and we never see your full card number at any point. What we receive is a confirmation that the order succeeded, along with your name, email address and the last four digits of the card for support purposes.
