Independent Low, Mid, and High Drive controls each feed their own saturation stage, a three-band harmonic matrix, true-bypass at 0% drive, band by band.
Drive (0–24dB) pushes into a Ceiling (−6 to 0dBFS) through a variable Lookahead (0.1–10ms), with a blended Fast (1–150ms) and Slow (50–2000ms) release working together to keep gain reduction musical, not pumped.
Ties a presence-taming stage directly to gain reduction, so harshness gets reined in exactly when the limiter is working hardest, structurally exact bypass at rest, so it never colors the signal when it isn't needed.
Computes the mathematically exact minimum gain over the lookahead window, overshoot is structurally impossible, not tuned away.
Enforces the ceiling 0.1dB below the user setting under high oversampling, plus a base-rate safety clamp. The Nitro stage layers on up to 3dB of true-peak polish for extra loudness without moving the ceiling.
A console-app harness runs the real plugin code and measures gated LUFS, RMS, peak, THD, and crest factor on real mixes, caught two DSP bugs auval missed.
